A Little Background

National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods LogoThe Walton Way Temple has an active and vibrant Brotherhood.  Our primary commitment is to Temple service and to our future leaders, our Temple Youth. We are a member of the MRJ. (Men of Reform Judaism).  Please join us soon at a monthly meeting for some bagels and coffee!  Among other endeavors to benefit our congregation, the Brotherhood annually provides funds for the planting of a tree for Tu B-Shevat which is done in coordination with the Bart D. Wittenberg Religious School.

The Jewish Chautauqua Society (JCS) was adopted in 1939 as the National Federation of Temple Brotherhood's education arm.   Originally founded in 1893 by Rabbi Henry Berkowitz, the JCS built its image on the dissemination of Judaism and Jewish History.  JCS sponsors and funds the JCS-Interfaith Institute Program, operating at local grassroots levels to encourage rabbis, priests, imams, and lay leaders to learn about the commonalties and differences among the various faiths, countering ignorance of Jews and Judaism through a series of highly effective and unique programs.
